ZAMAR was founded in the heart of Stellenbosch when energetic young musicians from across the country (and the world.), equally passionate about their music, came together to create a style which is both traditional and cosmopolitan.
Consisting of 5 full time members the band are filled up with highly talented and skilled male and female musicians, Zamar, which means 'to celebrate with the plucking of strings,' was meant to be a runaway success. The core of this vibrant group is Veronica (violin, vocal and piano) and Lyudmyla (accordion, vocal and piano), incorporating Brian with and guitar, Danica on djembe and percussion and Ignatius on bass. Zamar can provide entertainment not only of the highest quality but a great variety and diversity making sure there is music for everyone to enjoy.

Brian O'Neill was born on the 19 August 1986 in Krugersdorp, and after a couple of years of moving around, they finally settled in a little town called Tzaneen in the Limpopo Province.
His love for the acoustic guitar began in highschool when a group of friends decided to start on a musical journey of discovering themselves and where they fit in in life.

By matric he was so consumed by making music that it showed on his report card and all the notions of becoming a lawyer faded to gray as a life in music made it's way to the foreground.
