is a live five piece party band specialising in
corporate functions and events that require the vibe
and feel of a true live band. The female vocalist
Scarlett and front man / vocalist Sam provide the
energy and audience participation, that are key
elements to all successful functions. |

Should
you require an emcee or compere at your event, Mike
and Sam step smoothly into the appropriate role.
When your function requires a DJ as well, David will
add 20 years of DJ experience to the mix, enabling
us to customise entertainment to suit your specific
needs. If your event has a particular theme, Sam and
Scarlett can provide a suitable cabaret performance.
Rip Tide
brings to life the sounds of: Elvis Presley, Dire
Straits, CCR and many other hits from the 50’s up to
the latest releases, such as Christina Aguilera and
Timbaland. Even local music is represented in the
form of songs by Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Malaika,
Brenda Fassie and Hotline. The band is available as
a 5, 6 or 7 piece by adding members Vusi on
percussion and Dudu on keyboards should your event
require a big band.

Sam, the front
man has been entertaining and song writing for ten
years. He fronted the band ‘8 Year Itch’ who were
signed by David Gresham and had successful original
songs played on national radio stations. He has been
a member of Rip Tide since its inception and is well
liked by all audiences for his outgoing personality.
Besides being the lead male voice, Sam also
contributes to the whole performance on acoustic and
electric guitars, and he is by far the foremost
sweater in the band losing approximately 2 liters of
bodily fluid per performance!!
Scarlett,
the female vocalist of the band brings ten years of
performance experience to Rip Tide, doing not only
lead vocals but also crucial back up harmony and
percussion. She is also responsible for coffee at
band practice, and the occasional duet with Sam. She
has performed with Jester in South Africa and
Ethiopia, Frontline locally and in Dubai and for
many international groups visiting South Africa with
the band Good Vibes. She also has a successful
career as a solo artist.
